Together with Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and Worcestershire Biological Records Centre, we are part of Wildlife Sightings, a project to encourage more people to record wildlife across Worcestershire. To help people to learn more about identifying and recording wildlife that they may find in their gardens and local patches, we’re holding three sessions in 2024. All sessions take place in and around the wildlife garden at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s headquarters at Lower Smite Farm. These are open to people who submit records to Wildlife Sightings, members of Worcestershire Recorders and interested members of the public who are keen to begin recording wildlife.

Friday 10th May 2024 – Wildlife Sightings: moth night

Join us as we set up moth traps in the wildlife garden of Lower Smite Farm. Moth experts will be on hand to help identify what’s flying as well as advise on how to help moths where you live. You can choose to stay with one trap or move between traps to see how the diversity of moths changes between habitats. Refreshments will be available during the session.

Wednesday 26th June 2024  – Wildlife Sightings: discovering garden wildlife

Come along and delve into the wildlife garden to see what you can find. Meet some of the experts behind the Wildlife Sightings scheme who can help you learn how to identify what you spot as well as record what’s found during the day. Refreshments will be available.

Sunday 2nd September 2024 – Wildlife Sightings: discovering garden wildlife

Join experts from the Wildlife Sightings scheme for an informal ramble around the garden and ponds of Lower Smite Farm. Discover tips on identifying wildlife, taking photos of garden wildlife and recording what you fnd. Refreshments will be available.

The above events are free but booking is essential. We look forward to seeing you there.
